Final Project (4): Self-titled
REFLECTION
The final project required us to apply all the skills and knowledge we learned in previous weeks to create a composition that expresses ourselves through a poster and an animation. At the beginning, I was excited to hear that we would be creating an animation video; however, I was also worried because I had never animated a video before or studied this field. Seeing a variety of impressive works from previous seniors truly amazed me and motivated me to create a professional-quality animation like theirs.
This project was quite challenging for me because I had many ideas in mind, but when it came to sketching, I felt completely puzzled. I was also nervous about the animation process, as I had little knowledge of using After Effects. To overcome this, I watched several tutorial videos on YouTube, practiced on my own, and experimented with different animation techniques. The After Effects exercises helped me understand and apply basic tools and skills.
Creating the poster was also challenging, as there were many elements I wanted to include. I was concerned that some elements might not suit the overall composition or color scheme. Choosing the right colors to match the mood and style of my concept required careful consideration. As a result, I created two poster drafts and asked Mr. Fauzi to help me choose the final one.
Overall, this project was both entertaining and a great opportunity to express myself creatively. I enjoyed the process, especially because it introduced me to animation and allowed me to learn the basics independently. This experience will help me feel more confident and prepared for future semesters and courses that involve animation. I am proud of my work, and I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Fauzi for his valuable feedback and guidance throughout the project!
