PROJECT 2B: CONCEPTUAL PHOTO MANIPULATION (EDITING)
This week, I am going to edit the selected objects (perfume bottle and orange) in Adobe Photoshop.
The following are the objects I selected:
Figure 1 Perfume bottle
Figure 2 Orange (1) Figure 3 Orange (2)
Photo Manipulation in Adobe Photoshop:
Step 1: Select objects and refines the edges in mask mode.
Figure 4 Progress (Adobe Photoshop)
Step 2: Paste the cropped objects into a new document.

Step 3: Apply a mask to blend to orange onto the perfume cap.

Step 4: Merge and combine the perfume cap and orange by using the Brush Tool. (Black: hides, White: reveals)
Step 5: Adjust the brightness and of the orange. (comparison before and after)
- Image > Adjustment > Brightness/Contrast > Brightness: 15 Contrast: 17
Figure 7 Before Adjustment (Left) Figure 8 After Adjustment (Right)
Step 6: Add shadows onto the manipulated object and below it.
- Brush Tool (Brush size 47px) > Opacity 60% > Gaussian Blur 4.8px
Step 7: Add a solid color as the background.

Step 8: Adjust the levels of the whole image.

After completing all the steps above, I showed my images to Mr. Fauzi. He suggested that I readjust the shadow of the orange, as the existing shadow did not match the direction of the light source. He also advised me to soften the shadow and lower the opacity of orange so that the final conceptual photo manipulation would look more refined.
Figures 12 & 15 below show the images after applying Mr. Fauzi's feedback. Therefore, the shadow in the final image will look slightly different from the steps shown above, as the images below have been improved and refined ^^.

Besides that, I would like to create another photo manipulation using the same objects (perfume and orange) but with different shooting angles of the orange.
Figure 14 Progress (Adobe Photoshop)
I followed the steps above, and I think the results look great! However, I will submit the first image (the front angle, fig 12) as my final conceptual photo manipulations project yay.
