LECTURE

INTRO TO COMPOSITION

In second week, we studied about basic composition and guidelines on creating good composition. For example, by applying design rules like the rule of thirds or golden ratio. Rule of thirds is a method dividing an image into thirds, using two horizontal and two vertical lines. While golden ration is a mathematical ratio. When used in a design, it creates organic and natural-looking compositions that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

INSTRUCTIONS

PRACTICAL

PROJECT 1A: COLLAGE DESIGN ELEMENTS

Step 1: Choose and identify your collage's design elements from old magazines.

Step 2: Pre-compositing your college's design elements into a composition. Try three different compositions and layer arrangements. Take a picture of your first pre-composition collage (use CAMSCANNER apps), and then only go to the second and third ones. Submit three collage pre-compositions in Google Classroom.

Step 3: After checking your 3 collage pre-compositions with Mr. Fauzi, only then finalize your composition. Once satisfied with your pre-compositing, start gluing the cutouts based on layer-by-layer arrangements.
